550W Pump Casing
The same construction as the 200 W body taken up a frame size: taller barrel, larger suction eye, and a noticeably heavier section through the foot.
At 184 × 99 × 234 mm and roughly 4.1 kg in grey iron it is more than double the metal of the 200 W casing. Most of that extra goes into the foot and the wall behind the chamber, because the larger impeller puts more radial load into the same three mounting points.
Running it as a separate pattern rather than a machined variant of the smaller body is deliberate. The section changes are in the casting, not in the cutter path — which is cheaper at 100 pieces and gives a better grain structure where the load actually is.

What Is Difficult About This One
Every casting has one or two features that decide whether the batch repeats. On this part they are these.
Heavy foot needs directional solidification
The foot is the thickest section in the part. It has to feed last, or it shrinks and leaves porosity exactly where the hold-down bolts pull.
Same core box family as the 200 W
Chamber cores share tooling geometry across the frame sizes. Fewer core boxes to store, fewer to get mixed up on the line.
Section change under the barrel
Wall steps from the barrel into the foot in one radius rather than a corner — a sharp corner there is the classic hot-tear site on a casting this size.
Alloy Options
The same geometry is a different part in three different plants. Chloride content, abrasion and temperature drive the choice — not the name of the fluid.
